2. Data We Collect
- Account information (email, name)

- Payment information (processed securely through Stripe)
- Text content submitted for rephrasing
- Advertising and conversion measurement data, such as ad interactions, conversion events, cookies or similar identifiers, and first-party account information used to measure ad performance
3. Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, Clerk, our authentication provider, processes your Google account identity and profile information to authenticate you. This can include your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile image. Rephrase AI stores your Clerk account identifier, name, and email address in our application database to create and maintain your account, associate your saved history and subscription with you, and communicate with you about the service.
Google sign-in information is handled by Clerk and our hosting and database providers. Account email addresses and identifiers may also be used for the advertising and conversion measurement described below, including when you sign in with Google.

5. Advertising and Conversion Measurement
We use advertising and measurement partners to measure visits, sign-ups, trials, and purchases. We may share cookies or similar identifiers and account information, including email addresses, with these partners to attribute conversions. You can manage browser cookies through your browser settings and advertising preferences through our partners’ privacy controls, where available.
7. Data Retention
We retain saved original text and rephrased output for 12 months from the date each rephrase was created, for both Free and Pro accounts. We keep your account information while your account is active.
You may request deletion of your account information and saved text before the history retention period ends by contacting us as described below. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution obligations. We will explain any applicable exceptions when responding to your request.

9. Requesting Deletion and Revoking Google Access
To request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account and associated personal data, or to withdraw consent, email privacy@rephraseai.com. Please identify the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
You can revoke the Google connection through your Google Account connections settings. Revoking access stops future access through that connection. It does not automatically delete information already stored by Rephrase AI or cancel a paid subscription. Please contact us to request deletion of stored information.
Deleting your sign-in account does not by itself complete deletion of records held in our application database or by service providers. Contact us to request deletion across those systems.
10. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Secure authentication and identity verification
- Encrypted data storage and transmission
- Database security policies and access controls
- Regular security monitoring and updates
11. Changes to This Policy
We update the date above when this policy changes. If we change how we access, use, store, or share Google user data, we will notify affected users and obtain their consent before using that data in a new way or for a purpose not previously disclosed.

13. ChatGPT and Codex Integrations
When you connect Rephrase AI and request a rewrite through ChatGPT or Codex, we receive the text and rewrite settings sent to our tool and verify your connected account through our authentication provider. We use your account identity to apply your plan allowance and associate the rewrite with you. The integration does not request your full conversation history. It processes the text supplied in the tool request.
Successful rewrites automatically save the original text, rewritten output, and settings to your Rephrase AI History for 12 months from the date each rephrase was created. We return the rewritten text, selected profile, history-saving status, and usage information to ChatGPT or Codex. Information retained by ChatGPT or Codex is subject to the host’s own privacy policy and settings.
Our AI service providers receive the submitted text and rewrite instructions. We enable storage of model requests and responses with our rewrite provider and include an internal account identifier and request metadata to associate stored completions with an account and rewrite. Our infrastructure providers process saved text and operational logs, and our rate-limit provider processes account identifiers and request counts to enforce request limits.
We record account-linked integration activity, including a timestamp and a link to the saved rewrite. These activity records contain no separate copy of your text, have no automatic time-based expiry, and remain after the linked rewrite is deleted or expires. They are removed when the associated account record is deleted from our application database. You can also request their deletion by contacting us below.
To troubleshoot errors and output quality, operational logs record request identifiers, text length, rewrite profile, model and token usage, processing times, and error categories. Some service logs also contain account identifiers. When validation warnings, validation failures, or generation failures occur, diagnostic logs may include the full submitted text and the final output or last model response, even when a rewrite succeeds. We retain saved original text and rephrased output in your Rephrase AI History for 12 months.
If you follow an integration link to our website to create an account, referral information in the link may be recorded for signup attribution. Website visits, signups, and purchases are subject to the advertising and conversion measurement practices described above.
You can disconnect Rephrase AI using the connection controls in ChatGPT or Codex. Disconnecting or deleting a conversation does not itself delete saved history, activity records, or other copies held by Rephrase AI and its providers, and does not cancel a subscription. Email privacy@rephraseai.com to request access to or deletion of those records.
